Dancing at the Edge of the Known
My work is inspired by the sense of discovery and imagination expressed in images from early experiments in flight, circus arts, and the works of Alexander Calder. I aim to capture a sense of playful optimism that teeters somewhat magically on the fragile balance of our shaking, shifting planet.
Dancing at the Edge of the Known, was included in a collaborative performance with musicians, poets, and visual artists exploring the formal structure of the sonata. The collaboration culminated in an event called Formal Inquiry: The Sonata Undressed held at Velocity Dance Center in Seattle.
